Our Facilities

At St John the Baptist, we take pride in offering a vibrant and nurturing environment where our pupils can thrive and develop throughout their primary school years.

In October 2023, local author David Fuller, along with representatives from the Village Management Committee, joined us for the grand opening of our new library. This space also serves as a learning area, equipped with a new Smartboard.

To help us meet the needs of every child, we have several group rooms in which interventions, Lego Therapy and Learning Mentor sessions take place.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated cooking room, enabling all children across the school to explore and prepare a wide range of recipes.

Outside we have two hard surface playgrounds dedicated to Early Years -Year 4 and a basketball court for children in Years 5 and 6. In addition to this, we have an adventure trail which is accessed by all year groups.  Our outdoor space is completed with a large playing field, a Spiritual Garden and a yurt, all of which is used for outdoor learning.

Our Reception children also have access to their own learning area located outside of the classroom.

Finally, we are extremely lucky to have Cissbury Ring within walking distance which is used to enhance the learning about our local area in KS2.
